If you’re like me and ride an e-bike regularly, chances are you have invested in a nice helmet. Especially if you are commuting and sharing the roads with cars!

I bought a POC Kortal Race MIPS Helmet which offers a good amount of protection to the front and back of the head. It also offers a feature to upload your medical information via NFC which can assist first responders in case of an accident.

I found it oddly hard though to figure out how to set it up — There wasn’t a lot of info on where to start. After some Googling, I figured out it was actually pretty easy once you knew where to go, but in the interest of saving people time, here you go!

  1. Go to https://www.twiceme.com/ and download either the Android or iOS app.
  2. Open the app and follow the steps to add your medical information.
  3. Click on the Upload option.
  4. Place your phone on the symbol on top of the helmet. See the picture below. If you are using an Android, you’ll want to place the middle of the phone on the symbol. For Apple devices, I believe its the top-left (next to the camera lenses)
  5. If you did it correctly, the screen will flash within a few seconds letting you know it was done correctly.
